How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? If not now, when? ~ Rav Hillel, Pirke Avot
This Red Sea Pedestrian Stands against Judeophobes
As part of the stream of videos being broadcast, there is a music video from an artist, Nazanin Afshin-Jam for her song titled "Someday," an anthemic call for the toppling of the mullah's theocracy in Iran. Turns out Afshin-Jam is a bit of a renaissance woman. Born in Iran in 1979, she is a model, actress, former Miss World Canada and Miss World 1st runner-up, pilot, and human rights activist. Go to her wikipedia page and read the section on "Activism and Awards." You will freak out, and wonder what you have to do to help get her elected the first President of a democratic Iranian republic, or perhaps the Secretary General of the UN (which perhaps would stop being so useless when headed by someone, a woman, who actually does something).
This is the new feminism I was talking about months ago, before everyone started blowing each other up again...women not fighting for their rights, but assuming the leadership, taking action, generating policy, and effecting change; not asking permission from the boys...just doing it.
Whatever progress is made by the Iranian people in the face of this burgeoning revolution whose birth we are witnessing, I hope for their sake that Afshin-Jam is a part of it.

Thanks Shutey...You ROCK! Check out the latest news at National Geographic...Seems as if most of those First Cave Paintings were created by...WOMEN... Is this relevant to today? YES....Because it proves that Females had active and participatory roles beyond breeding and cooking in the earliest of tribal groups... In my humble opinion the very foundations of abstract reasoning and historical records.... The first "Philosophers" were perhaps the women who painted those caves that became the Cultural Foundations of Humanity.... Aaaand our survival as a species relies on the end of the continued persecution of the FEMALE gender...
click on the flag if you want to laugh. If the Congress and the Resident don't govern with your consent, put this flag on your website. But someone might call you a domestic terrorist if you do. Ooops!
