It's the same in any lingo

How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? If not now, when? ~ Rav Hillel, Pirke Avot

Wear It With Pride

28 June 2009

Hostages, Mullah Style.

When the extremist whack jobs in Iran launched their coup they took hostages from the American embassy. Some thirty years later the game is apparently the same, only now the whack jobs are in charge. They don't "take hostages" now. They "make arrests."

It is being reported that 8 UK embassy employees have been arrested for allegedly playing a "significant role" in the protests. Ayatollah Khatami said on Friday:
"In this unrest, Britons have behaved very mischievously and it is fair to add the slogan of 'down with England' to the slogan of 'down with USA.'"
Britons are behaving mischievously? What, are they look up the mullahs robes with mirrors? Putting whoopie cushions on their chairs? The only thing Britain seems to be engaged in vis a vis Iran is a game of "kick out the diplomats." Iran kicks out 2 UK diplomats, so the UK kicks out 2 Iranian diplomats. Ooo...I'm quaking. What's next, a full blown smack fight?

In more Iranian news of the weird: the Iranian Guardian Council, in its infinite wisdom, has decided to recount 10% of the votes. I have no comment to that pile of stupid other than to say that perhaps these guys are wearing their turbans too tight, cutting the circulation off to their brains.

I once knew a guy who put his tefillin shel yad on too tight and he passed out...really. And we don't wear them all day. The Fraudian Council probably has those turbans on all day. I think we should commission a study.

It is also being reported that the US and UK are becoming increasingly vocal against the protests. The hills are alive with the sound of music?!? Mohammed, the Iranian protester whose interview on CNN I partially posted here, has an excellent idea: block exports of gasoline to Iran. If his assertion is correct that Iran imports 85% of its petrol, shut the country down. It's time the West took substantive steps to help the people of Iran bring kinesis to their attempt to overthrow the mullahs. How many of these kids have to "disappear" or be gunned down in the streets?

Oh wait...Marack kicked Iran out of the July 4th tea party. Everything's all better now. Go back to sleep.
