The Fast of Tammuz: Why A Jewish Homeland?

Today is the fast of the 17th of Tammuz. Five calamities are associated with this day.

1. The Romans breached the walls of Jerusalem in 70 CE (the Babylonians breached the walls on the 9th of Tammuz in 586 BCE).
2. In the First Temple period, the tamid offering, the fire offering in the Temple, was no longer being made as the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem caused a shortage of sheep
3. Moses broke the tablets of stone.
4. The Roman Apostomos burned a Torah publicly.
5. An idol was erected by the Romans in the Temple.

Post ancient tragedies occurred on this date as well. In 1239 Pope Gregory IX ordered the confiscation of all volumes of the Talmud. In 1391 more than 4000 Jews were killed in Toledo and Jaen, Spain. In 1559, the Jewish quarter in Prague was burned and looted. In 1944 the Kovno Ghetto was liquidated. In 1970 Libya ordered the confiscation of all Jewish property.

In three weeks will be the fast of Tisha b'Av, the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av. This is the date when both Temples were destroyed. The first by the Babylonians in 586 BCE, the second by the Romans in 70 CE. These three weeks are a period of deep mourning for Jews, and are a time, especially for the most assimilated among us, to remember what happened to our people when we the majority were exiled from our land, and why the preservation of the Jewish state means nothing less than the preservation of our people.

For lazy armchair leftwing bloggers, like ratfucker Joe Cannon, and others who have been justifiably lambasted here, Jewish Zionists are simply paranoid racists who think the world is out to get them, and use this paranoia to justify and maintain a Jewish state.

The New Oxford American Dictionary defines paranoia as:

a mental condition characterized by delusions of persecution, unwarranted jealousy, or exaggerated self-importance, typically elaborated into an organized system. It may be an aspect of chronic personality disorder, of drug abuse, or of a serious condition such as schizophrenia in which the person loses touch with reality.
• suspicion and mistrust of people or their actions without evidence or justification : the global paranoia about hackers and viruses.

Over the next three weeks OMV will be featuring the evidence that the need and desire to revive the Jewish national home in its ancestral lands, lands that have been continuously occupied by Jews, despite the mass exiles of Babylon and Rome, for 4 millenia, is not based on delusions of persecution, but based on the all too present reality that we have been hunted and hated for nearly as long. Israel is the literal line in the sand for the Jewish people. Our devotion to the land will be highlighted as well, because Israel's existence is not justified simply by our persecution, as dumb ass Marack would have the world believe. That this is our place is undeniable.
