It's the same in any lingo

How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? If not now, when? ~ Rav Hillel, Pirke Avot

Arming the "Demilitarized" State

It is being reported that Ehud "Givin'-Away-The-Store" Barak has approved the transfer of 1000 Kalashnikovs to the Palestinian Authority, the second major transfer of weapons in the past year. Before the weapons were shipped ballistics tests were run so that Israeli authorities can determine if the guns are used later to kill Jews.

I have three questions.
  1. What happened when Israel transfered weapons to PA security forces in the 90's?
  2. If you accept the fact that the extreme possibility exists that these guns will be turned on Israel (the answer to question 1) that you are running ballistics tests preemptively, why the fuck are you transferring them in the first place?
  3. Is there some kind of vortex in Eretz Yisrael that sucks the common sense out of some people's heads?
Apparently these Kalaches are for Lt. Keith Dayton's PA playground security force. Here's a bit of hilarity; they can't find enough people willing to join. So far, 2000 Dayton trained men have been sent to Jenin, Jericho, Bayt Lechem, and Chevrun. Another 3 battalions, representing another 2000 men is supposed to be added. Israel approves the expanding of the force (there's that vortex again), but for some reason Dayton can't seem to find enough people interested in joining.

Hmmm...why would that be I wonder? Here are some speculations off the top of my head.
  1. Most of the guys that would be willing to serve are already loyal to an armed faction that is dedicated to destroying Israel and finds this security force to be a capitulation to the Jewish state.
  2. Arabs seen as collaborators get executed in the streets.
  3. When the AKs get turned on the Israelis the security forces become targets.
  4. Not too many people are stupid enough to get caught in the middle of the overarching Hamas vs Fatah power struggle.
  5. All of the above.
The official reasons given is that people are not optimistic about the prospects for peace, and the selection process is very fine as they don't want Hamas members corrupting the force.

More Dayton Security Force Rejects (Note the lack of shortage of Kalashes)

In other words this will be a Fatah dominated force. And who can tell me what Fatah does not do? Recognize Israel's right to exist. Very good.

It's just another SNAFU. Situation Normal: ALL FUCKED UP.
