I checked back to the open letter to Crown Prince Pampers and saw two names on it whose presence I find deeply disturbing, and downright disappointing: Studs Terkel and Gore Vidal. These guys are old hands to the American political scene. Though I can understand their desire to see a candidate who represents all the promise that so many bought into when they first experienced the Pampers brand, I am stunned that these two literary and intellectual giants for one second actually believed in him.
The first time I googled Obama I came across an LA Times article from April 2007 documenting Pampers' two-faced fraudulent stance on his lobbyist ban. I've known Pampers was a charlatan from the beginning, as have millions of PUMAs. What does it say when people like Terkel and Vidal are so easily duped? Perhaps it was their overriding desire to just be able to feel like there was someone out there who was really going to make a difference in millions of people's lives; someone who understood their needs and actually cared about them; someone who saw there is truly a great need to stop the infighting that cripples our government, bring parties together, and reach consensus on what is truly best for the American people.
Funny, I found that candidate, and it wasn't Pampers.
While Pampers began morphing into the Bush clone many of us saw him for months and months ago, my candidate was standing up to George Bush and said NO to warrantless wire tapping and granting immunity to the complicit telecom companies. While Pampers is shifting his position on offshore drilling, my candidate is standing up for sane energy policy that demands we move quickly to renewable energy sources to end our dependence on foreign oil and strengthen our national security, rather than wasting money on drilling that won't make any appreciable difference, even when those wells come on line IN TEN YEARS.
I found a candidate that stands for real universal healthcare.
I found a candidate that takes a stand, fights for what is right, and doesn't flip flop on policy simply because it seems politically expedient to look like they're pleasing everyone but in the end pleasing no one. Someone who believes that everyone who votes should have their vote counted. Someone who fights and doesn't back down.
Studs, Gore, meet Hillary Clinton.
STOP GENUFLECTING AND START PAYING ATTENTION.

Once again - A Great Post!
Again, I declare to the world that I am in love with Shtuey!! I love the way that you cut through the crap and reveal the fraud for who and what he is. Best of all, I love that you make me laugh - although there is now a note of hysteria as I realize that this nightmare is for real.
Love Minnow x x x
