Arguably the greatest voice in sports, Harry Kalas, passed away at the age of 73. He was the voice of summer, the voice of my youth, doing play by play for the Phillies as long as I can remember, not to mention all those NFL films. We used to bring a radio to the games so we could hear him make the calls. He was a class act all the way around, a Philly institution.
I'm glad he was able to call one last Phillies World Series Championship before he moved on. No doubt it was as special to him as the first one in 1980.
Harry, thanks for all the work, your love of the team, and the game. No one will replace you.
