It's the same in any lingo

How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? If not now, when? ~ Rav Hillel, Pirke Avot

The More Things Change The More They Stay The Same

As long as we're on the subject of the racism being directed at Israel over its insistence that Jews be allowed to live in all areas of its capital, and standing up for its right to enforce the rulings of its own courts, let's look at the racism in the Jew hating media. Here is video from CNN where the interviewer, Isha Sesay, puts her Jew hate and bias right out front without so much as a flinch. In fact, watch her body language and her tone as this unprofessional hack finds herself incapable of accepting her interviewees answers when they fail to conform to her agenda. You can also read the anti-Israel biased story put out by CNN

Not much has changed since the early days of Israel's rebirth. A couple months ago I posted a link to a video of an interview that old school media Jew hater Mike Wallace did with Abba Eban, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations of Jew Hate. Note Wallace's tone, his seeming inability to acknowledge Israeli rights, and the arrogant assumption that all actions taken by Israel are wrong. He starts by saying he is asking questions raised by Israel's critics and enemies, a cute ploy and poor attempt to veil that he is among them. And in the face of Wallace's obvious Jew hate, Abba Eban cut him down and defended Israel, Zionism. and the Jewish people with truth, and eloquence.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Thanks for posting that Regev video. Geez, that CNN woman was dense. I just wish Regev had stated that the homes had always been owned by Jews who retained title after Jordan barged in in 1948. The media moron was trying to make out like it was a Jewish conspiracy to steal Palestinian land. Of course, it had never been any such thing.

Thanks for posting the Abba Eban interview. What a genius! Wallace seems like such an idiot next to him.
I want to read a book of his. Do you have any suggestions?

This video also makes me think of what we hav lost in the current big media pipeline. The networks would never allow discussion this meaningful on the air anymore.

Also, its funny to see Mike Wallace suddenly start explaining what's so great about his Parliament cigarettes. "There are over 30,000 traps"..." in the recessed filter".

Ron, the beauty of Israel for a lot of people is that is allows them to express their Jew hate without having to say you hate Jews. It's politically correct to criticize Israel...the "Israelis" are doing this, the "Israelis" are doing that. Truth is that if you oppose the notion that the Jewish nation is entitled to exist in its historic national home, from which it has never truly been separated, you're a racist. Sesay's Jew hate is palpable. She ought to do a show with Pat Buchanan.

Mawm, Eban was such a force. His intellect went in every direction, and he was so eloquent. I agree, next to him, Wallace looks like a chump. Israel has lacked such an articulate, and powerful voice like his for a long time. Regev is no Eban, but he stood his ground, made his case, and made no apologies for it.

Had the Israelis simply sent the police or the army to throw these people out without cause, without any legal basis, then I could understand. But this was a well examined, well adjudicated case. What people resent here is that Jews are asserting their sovereignty. The world hated us when we were weak, and they hate us now that we are back in our land and defend ourselves. There have been things that Israel has done which it has had to deal with, has had to say, "our bad." Promulgating the decisions of its courts, exerting its sovereignty is not one of them.

For books I would recommend his self-titled autobiography, and Heritage: Civilization and the Jews. This was the book published in conjunction with the PBS series he did back in the 80's.

I watched all 3 Wallace-Ebban videos. Wow, Abba Ebban was masterful and skillfully avoided Wallaces 30,000 traps. ;)

Well, it was easy when those traps are made of lies, which Israelis heard 1000 times before, and still hear now. The difference is that for a good while the Israeli left started believing them. That's how we ended up with an internationally known terrorist group being legitimated as a political body that is even referred to as "moderate."

Luckily, the evacuation of Gush Katif, and the literal fallout, has woken a lot of lefty Israelis.
