It's the same in any lingo

How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? If not now, when? ~ Rav Hillel, Pirke Avot

Mirror Mirror

So I'm watching the RNC.  You know why.  I want to see the moose hunter from Alaska go out and kick some ass.  I'm no Republican, not by a long shot, but I want to see what Sarah Palin is really made of.  I want to see her stand up to the bullshit that's been slung at her the past week.  Mitt Romney proved why he's a scary fucker and why I'm so glad he's not being nominated.

Huckabee just kicked Biden to the curb.  Palin got more votes running for Mayor of Wasilla Alaska than Biden did for President.  That is fucking hilarious.

Sarah Palin mocked Pampers, and rightfully so.  She knows he's a fraud.  I love that she kicked him to the curb on the community organizer bullshit.  She televised what we've known about him all along, that he's an ass who has never accomplished anything other than advancing himself for his own gain.

The pundits on PBS (Pampers Broadcasting Service) seem to be complaining that she didn't tell us anything about herself other than what we already know.  Maybe that's because she is who she is and she's not hiding anything, in contrast to Barry Soetoro who allows his leftist whores at the Daily Krap to furnish fraudulent birth certificates for him.  Who's the last person you remember running for an office this high who truly was of the people?  You might have to go all the way back to Abraham Lincoln to find one who wasn't part of some landed good ol' boy network (being the Illinois Chair of the barely functioning Whig party hardly qualifies).  She's not establishment, unless you consider the Wasilla PTA the establishment.

David Brooks was so gleeful at the end of her speech that I thought he was going to burst into laughter and song.  If you weren't sure whether Dave hates Pampers, there's no disputing it now.

Best lines of the night?

"Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

And what was it she said?  The Presidency is not a place for a journey of self-discovery?  Nail on head.  Very adroitly it was made known that Pampers has no idea who he is, and that is not who you want in the White House.  And if he does know who he is then he's going all out to prevent us from knowing what that means.  That's scary bullshit.

I don't have much in common ideologically with Sarah Palin, but if my ass was on the line and I had to choose between Palin and Pampers as to whom I'd want to have my back; no contest.  I'll take the hockey mom.

I will comment more on the speech, and what the Palin candidacy may mean moving forward.  At the moment all I can say is wow.  This was a stone dropped in the placid pool.  For good or ill, this is something that we desperately needed.
