Truth is that the guy is getting screwed by NBC simply so they can massage Leno's ego, the only thing about him larger than his head. Conan has been a far better host, and I need no more evidence than the segment you are about to watch. Having essentially carte blanche to do what he likes, Conan has decided to spend as much of NBC's money as he can before his show gets yanked.
Ladies and gentleman, I give you the Bughatti Veyron Mouse...
Conan, you rock man.

I blame Conan. He had to know there was a chance Jay's show would not work. Conan could have double his ratings if he would have done a daily call in with Jay as they talked about Jay's show.
The skit ends with Conan's desk mysteriously being moved back and replaced by Jay's desk.
What is Conan mad about anyways?
There was nothing in Conan's contract saying that Leno could have the time slot back, or that Conan had to support Leno's show. NBC wanted to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 Eastern so Leno could have his show at his old slot. His show wasn't working becaue he's not funny. That's not Conan's problem.
Why is Conan mad? He took over Letterman's old show, had been doing it for years, and it was very successful. But, his aspiration was the coveted Tonight Show. NBC offered it to him 6 years ago at the end of Leno's run. He took it. Conan did not want the Tonight Show, a show that has aired at 11:30 eastern for decades, a franchise that is an American entertainment institution, moved to midnight, and have the Late Night show moved to 12:30. It's an integrity issue, aside from a contractual issue.
NBC went with Leno because he's a whining cry baby. Waah. His show isn't doing well. His show sucked. It wasn't doing well. He should have worked on his content instead of pressuring NBC to to move his time slot. Now he's going to take back the Tonight Show? I hope he tanks. If he had a shred of integrity he would tell NBC to leave Conan and the Tonight Show alone. But it's all about Jay and his massive ego.
