I was driving and it occurred to me that there ought to be some leverage in the fact that the mullahs brought in Hamas to help put down the protests. What was really going on there? I mean Hamas is backed by Iran. Hamas is Sunni, Iran is Shiite. I was looking from the angle that this was a demonstration on the world stage that Hamas is not a player you bring to the table to talk peace; you marginalize them and choke them off.

When I got home I read a post by Bill Levenson at Israpundit...duh. The real story is that if a Shiite regime is bringing in Sunnis to gun down Shiite protesters, perhaps large segments of the army are not willing to fire on their own people...duh.

There's your lever. Get the army to join the people and turn on Hamas, and then the mullahs.Shtueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611947223509549389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-819631771368211922009-06-21T12:25:46.173-04:002009-06-21T12:25:46.173-04:00Marack is always confused. He thought a light would come down and we'd all do his bidding because, after all, he is Teh One.

I think that the best we can do is continue to post videos, pictures, and news from Iran. The protesters are doing their best to get these images out so we need to broadcast them.

I'd say call the White House, but we all know Marack doesn't give a fuck what we think. Putting the images out there and getting the stories out may be the best thing we as individuals can do.

As far as what America can do; America stopped being the leader of the free world back in January. I agree with Caroline Glick that Israel should be leading the international effort to support the protests. In order for the mullahs to be removed a tipping point must be reached. If the protesters know the international community is behind them perhaps they will continue on. Perhaps we need to start arming the protesters. I don't know.Shtueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611947223509549389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-25167457877764722712009-06-21T12:13:38.669-04:002009-06-21T12:13:38.669-04:00I agree, the CIA involvement would be more behind ...I agree, the CIA involvement would be more behind the scenes, but don't you think they would know that could lead to what is going on now?

How do you think we should help them? Don't we usually let the CIA take care of that?

It's so hard to tell, with Marack, who is behind the mask. He wants to be liked, but he also wants to be seen as a friend of Islam. And he wants to be dictator of the world, but he doesn't like the past history of the CIA. He must be very confused right now. What to do, what to do.

Any thoughts?Puma for Lifehttp://helpmejoseph.typepad.com/puma_for_life/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-24695127252444387902009-06-21T11:33:58.422-04:002009-06-21T11:33:58.422-04:00PFL, keep in mind that Teh One has severely curtai...PFL, keep in mind that Teh One has severely curtailed CIA operations. The relationship is strained at best. If there is CIA involvement it's probably not with the riots, but behind the scenes, pushing the power struggle between Rafsanjani and Khamenei, which is at the heart of the action (though I continue to stand against anyone who says the people getting killed in the streets just want to replace one puppet with another). The instability created while these factions fight behind the scenes could open the door for the protesters, and non-fundamentalist leaders. The people on the streets want democracy. They want to hold hands in public. They want to be free. I don't think installing yet another US puppet regime is the answer. The Iranians need to establish a just government that is of their own making. A U.S. generated puppet regime would only deepen the rift. That doesn't mean we can't stand with them however. If the door to toppling the theocracy is opened, which it is, and the people of Iran want to walk through it, then we should help them.

Marack doesn't care what happens, as long as everyone likes him, which is what his apologyfest and kowtowing to Iran is all about in the first place.Shtueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611947223509549389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-26186388195992982252009-06-21T11:15:16.281-04:002009-06-21T11:15:16.281-04:00Perhaps I am a stupid asshole, but remember that a...Perhaps I am a stupid asshole, but remember that anything Obama says is the opposite of what he does. My thoughts are that the CIA is actually involved in these riots in some way; that's how the USA usually operates, at least in the past.
