Pressu...FT, Secretary Clinton works for barry now. Pressuring Israel to open its border with Gaza, making no reference to Hamas having to release Gilad Shalit before this happens...these are not good signs. I don't dispute that she understands the region's concerns regarding Iran. What is she going to do about it is the question. She works for Barry now.

There is also no disputing that Barry's policy toward Syria is appeasement. I see no indication from HRC that she has any objection to this. Kerry made it clear that U.S. policy is going to be pressuring Israel to give back the Golan Heights. Israel was only able to stop Syria, which currently supplies Hizbullah with Iranian weapons, from shelling Israeli towns when it took this territory in 1967. Giving back the Golan is suicide for Israel, and Kerry already acknowledged that this probably wouldn't get Syria to leave Iran's side. Again, no objection from Clinton on this. Not a neocon conspiracy theory, a fact.

She is also on board with Barry pledging 900 million bucks to Gaza and the Palestinian Authority which serves to prop up a terror kleptocracy that still does not recognize Israel's right to exist. She has made statements that this money will not be given until they meet certain criterion; like renouncing violence, recognizing Israel, etc. Why make the pledge then before the conditions are met?

Hamas stated before HRC arrived in the region that they would not meet those obligations, and the Palestinian Authority has not met those conditions either, but she pledged the money in Egypt anyway. So again, she may understand the fear about Iran, but she is enabling a government that is hostile to Israel. She says Hamas must renounce violence and recognize Israel. The Palestinian Authority has not done this, and yet she considers them worthy of negotiating with.

This isn't about subscribing to a neocon agenda. This is about what is going on on the ground.

I am not going to wear rose colored glasses because the Secretary of State is Hillary Clinton. She's not the President. She's not making this policy. The question is will she continue to enable it, or denounce it?

We will see what happens once the Netanyahu government is in place. Right now, it's not lookin' too good.

If the money hadn't been pledged, if Clinton was pressuring the Palestinian Authority to recognize Israel and dismantle the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, if we weren't sending envoys to Syria attempting to sway Assad with promises to pressure Israel to return the Golan, then I would be happier.

She has made statements pressuring Hamas to renounce violence. That's a no brainer. She should be pressuring them to release Gilad Shalit. That would mean something. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley of Nevada sent a petition to Hillary that would tie aid to Gaza to Shalit's release. No word from Clinton on this. Again, not a good sign. Not a neocon conspiracy. Berkley is a Democrat.

Clinton will have more opportunities to demonstrate her position. Eventually she will have to make the choice as to whether she is going to enable Barry or stand up to him. Right now the signs are pointing to enabling. I hope I'm wrong. As I said when she first took this job, it may come down to her deciding whether to stay or resign.Shtueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611947223509549389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-21135533651008625542009-03-08T19:11:00.000-04:002009-03-08T19:11:00.000-04:00According to the New York Times HRC reflects on he...According to the New York Times HRC reflects on her middle eastern meetings with national leaders:

"Clinton said she was struck by the depth of fear about Iran and the extent to which officials say it meddles in their affairs.

'There is a great deal of concern about Iran from this whole region,' she said to reporters on Wednesday. “It is clear Iran intends to interfere with the internal affairs of all of these people and try to continue their efforts to fund terrorism, whether it is Hezbollah or Hamas or other proxies.' That would be very Pampers-like.

FT; as we know, words and actions are two different things. I'm watching to see where all of this goes. Where it's headed right now is the empowering of Iran's Hamas proxy in Gaza, and appeasing Iran's ally Syria. That's not exactly being tough on Iran as much as it's helping them.

It's going to be difficult for HRC supporters to see this happen, but it already is.Shtueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611947223509549389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-70867006301325080662009-03-08T18:37:00.000-04:002009-03-08T18:37:00.000-04:00Actually, your poll might have come out differentl...Actually, your poll might have come out differently had someone not gone to a bunch of different computers to vote, thereby skewing the results. But I've read Glick for years now, and her analysis is usually on. There is a definite shift that she does not seem to resisting. Her lack of public condemnation for acts of terror speaks volumes. This does not seem like the Hillary that swore to act against Iran if Israel was attacked in the Pennsy debate last year.Shtueyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611947223509549389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7764151925164944873.post-30442758299718929402009-03-07T22:59:00.000-05:002009-03-07T22:59:00.000-05:00Shtuey, I don't think I have ever been in disagree...Shtuey, I don't think I have ever been in disagreement with you thus far, but I have noticed that most of the anti-Israel/Hillary citations I have seen lately lack diect quotes from Hillary. Maybe I'm in denial, but I would like to see direct quotes and when I'm less tired I will attempt to find some. I did see a quote from her the other day where she actually did say that the Israelis have every right to defend themselves if they continue to be shelled as they are. i believe I saw this on Dipnote, but i will check. Hillary never did really speak out against the sexism and shit in the primaries. That is when she lost me. Call it ESP but I knew her suspension speech was contrived it was just the introduction of her concession speech. She is a total disappointment.
