How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done. ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Just Like I Said

Remember when I told you that Tushy Obama was going to try and make Israel the reason why his administration was unable to move on Iran's nukes, and would try and sell the Arabs a story that because of Israel's unwillingness to commit national suicide for a fake peace with them Iran was going to get the bomb?

From my April 21 post:
What Tushy Obama, and his anti-Israel cabal don’t understand is that Israel does not need the United States’ approval to bomb the mother loving crap out of Iran. Israel does not need access to Iraqi airspace to bomb the mother loving crap out of Iran. What the United States fails to understand is that some of the wealthiest and most powerful countries in the world have a vested interest in Iran never getting nukes and, as they did in the wake of the Osirak bombing, will be more than happy to grant Israel all the political cover it needs, where she needs it: behind closed doors. These countries are not happy that Tushy Obama is dragging his feet allowing Iran to get the bomb, a problem all the more urgent now that the UN has revealed that Iran has enough enriched uranium to build a bomb, nor are they going to buy his potential cover story that it is Israel’s recalcitrance that is preventing his administration from acting substantively (which would have to be the narrative he tries to sell them as the Arabs are never going to sing Cumbaya with the Persians, no matter how many Cokes Tushy Obama buys them).
Well guess what? That's exactly what happened. And, as I also said, the Arabs aren't buying it.

From Caroline Glick (thank you to Joshuapundit for listing this as a must read as I missed it last week):
As Obama's chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel made clear in his closed-door briefing to senior AIPAC officials this week, the administration is holding Israel indirectly responsible for Iran's nuclear program. It does this by claiming that Israel's refusal to cede its land to the Palestinians is making it impossible for the Arab world to support preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Somewhat inconveniently for the administration, the Arabs themselves are rejecting this premise. This week US Defense Secretary Robert Gates visited the Persian Gulf and Egypt to soothe Arab fears that the administration's desperate attempts to appease the mullahs will harm their security interests. He also sought to gain their support for the administration's plan to unveil a new peace plan aimed at isolating and pressuring Israel.

After meeting with Gates, Amr Moussa - who has distinguished himself as one of Israel's most trenchant critics - said categorically, "The question of Iran should be separate from the Arab-Israel conflict."
The Tushy Obama administration tried to blame Iran's nuclear program on Israel's refusal to concede to the creation of a terror state dedicated to her destruction. When that didn't work the cast of idiots is changing its tune. Now we're supposed to believe that it is Israel's possibly existent nuclear weapons that are to blame. Which would be true if Israel had ever made any threatening overtures like saying they wanted to wipe Iran off the map. Funny but I think it was Igogettajob saying that about Israel. Whoops!

[Do you think anyone in the Tushy Obama administration actually knows there is a difference, but also a deep seeded hatred between the Persians and the Arabs? I'm not really sure. However, it is very clear from their deeply held notion that Iran and the Arabs would stand together in their mutual hate of Israel and the Jews, how much they loathe the existence of the Jewish state.]
Just as the administration is unmoved by objective facts that expose as folly its single-minded devotion to the notion that Israel is responsible for the absence of peace in the Middle East, so the Arab rejection of its view that Israel is to blame for Iran's nuclear program has simply driven it to escalate its attacks on Israel. This week it opened a new campaign of blaming Israel directly - through its purported nuclear arsenal - for Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Do you think anyone in the Tushy Obama administration actually knows there is a difference, but also a deep seeded hatred between the Persians and the Arabs? I'm not really sure. However, it is very clear from their deeply held notion that Iran and the Arabs would stand together in their mutual hate of Israel and the Jews, how much they loathe the existence of the Jewish state. The Resident hates Israel. He always has. I told you all this was his game. I told all my Jewish friends who voted for the asshole. I wonder if they're getting the picture now?

Glick also agrees that Tushy's policies are in fact sanctioning Israel to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.
As a consequence, the operational significance of the administration's anti-Israel positions is that Israel will not be well served by adopting a more accommodating posture toward the Palestinians and Iran. Indeed, perversely, what the Obama administration's treatment of Israel should be making clear to the Netanyahu government is that Israel should no longer take Washington's views into account as it makes its decisions about how to advance Israel's national security interests. This is particularly true with regard to Iran's nuclear weapons program.
Rationally speaking, the only way the Obama administration could reasonably expect to deter Israel from attacking Iran's nuclear installations would be if it could make the cost for Israel of attacking higher than the cost for Israel of not attacking. But what the behavior of the Obama administration is demonstrating is that there is no significant difference in the costs of the two options.
If the choice is die at Pampers' hands, or fight to live another day (with the tacit backing of the Arabs who do not want a nuclear Iran, a fact that must make the Tushy want to light his hair on fire), Israel will fight. And guess what folks? There isn't anything the Resident can do to stop it.

What Tushy doesn't understand is that if given the choice between the creation of Palestine and preventing a nuclear Iran, the Arabs are going to pick no nukes. Here's a little secret friends: the Arabs don't give a fuck about the Palestinians, and they never have. They hate the Jews, but couldn't care less about the Palestinians; yet one more thing the Tushy doesn't seem to understand.

The one thing that I still haven't figured out yet is if Rahm Emmanuel is pushing this policy because he supports his boss's dedication to destroying Israel, or because he knows this policy will push Israel to attack Iran, which is the only real way Israel's safety can be guaranteed. After the events of the last couple weeks I'm really starting to think it's the latter. He couldn't be stupid enough to think the policy makes sense can he? Well...stranger things have happened.

And is anyone else starting to wonder whether Defense Secretary Gates is no smarter than a sack of sawdust? I know I am.

The Tushy Obama administration is just another circus of incompetence, like Bush's before it. It's quite tiresome and, for a number of people, potentially deadly. The only piece of the puzzle remaining vis a vis Israel is whether or not Netanyahu will tell the Tushy to shove it up his ass.

Remember way back when I said Gates was dangerous in the evil residents administration. I was correct because I realized he was dumb as a rock...fortunately for us shrub kept him under control....now Gates is like a rudderless ship with holey sails. Scary!

The Arabs have a saying: Me against my brother. Me and my brother against my cousin. Me, my brother, and my cousin against the stranger.

As can be seen by the Arabs' reaction to the 2006 war and Operation Cast Lead (Gaza, 2008), they were quite happy to see Iran and its proxies get taken down a notch.

It won't be any different this time. The Arab leaders are trying to figure out how to best deal with Israel (from the standpoint of actually trying to deal with them economically and politically), while holding onto their heads.

Good summary of the current situation in your blog post, although I think that Rahm hates Israel.

Good post, shtuey. It's about time someone pointed out that most of the Arab world doesn't give a crap about Palestinians- they are their bastard children in many of their eyes, otherwise, why wouldn't Egypt and Lebanon be a little more gracious to their brothers? I don't get Rahm at all, maybe it is twisted logic in his case.

btw- I have a belated comment to you on the previous thread.
